The theme of FIRST® LEGO® League Explore for the 2024-2025 season was SUBMERGED℠. This program engages students ages 6 to 10 by challenging them to focus on the fundamentals of engineering and explore how they can combine art and science to create something unique.

Throughout the season, participants learned to design, code, and create innovative solutions using the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Essential educational set and the DIVE seasonal theme set. The theme encouraged children to learn how and why people explore the seas and oceans, create a creative poster depicting the team’s adventure and the role of each team player during the season, and build and program a submarine, research station, artificial habitat, and ocean creatures. As they worked diligently, students subtly developed their systems thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

Over 20 schools from 15 towns in the country participated in the Explore program for students aged 6 to 10 during the DIVE season.

The Explore program is unique in that it not only engages children with robotics and engineering, but also inspires them to think creatively and present their solutions in a way that combines technology and the arts. At the end of the season, participants presented their projects and discoveries to a wider audience, demonstrating how STEM and art can work together.
