What is FIRST® LEGO® League?
FIRST® LEGO® League is a global educational program that introduces children and youth aged 5 to 16 to science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) through fun, hands-on learning. Participants gain practical experience solving real-world problems through a robotics program designed to help students and their teachers build a better future together.
For the first time, the program is being implemented in two formats:
-
FIRST® LEGO® League Future Edition for age groups 5–7 and 8–16, based on LEGO® Education Computer Science & AI.
-
FIRST® LEGO® League Founders Edition for Explore (ages 6–10) and Challenge (ages 10–16), based on LEGO® Education SPIKE™ technology.
Each format features two age divisions tailored to meet the developmental needs of every age group. Key objectives of the program include building and refining STEM skills, sparking natural curiosity, applying knowledge effectively to real-life situations, and developing teamwork principles.
