What is FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge?

In FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge, teams of students aged 9 to 16 engage in research activities, real-world problem solving, and engineering challenges while developing their social and teamwork skills. Teams build and program a LEGO® robot to complete missions in a robot game and design an innovative project based on the season's theme. Unlike the other two age divisions, Discover (ages 4–6) and Explore (ages 6–10), FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge centers around friendly competition among participants.

FIRST® LEGO® League Challenge – BIOGLOW Season (2026–2027)

Biodiversity is the clearest indicator of our planet's health, showing how plants, animals, and ecosystems coexist in harmony to sustain life on Earth. In the same way, the FIRST LEGO League community demonstrates the power of collaboration — when people with diverse ideas and skills unite, they can solve even the greatest global challenges.

Scientists and engineers worldwide draw inspiration from nature daily: from studying wildlife and preserving rare plant species to developing innovative biomimetic technologies. This season, teams will step into the shoes of researchers to discover how science and technology can support the natural world.

How will you use your STEM skills, teamwork, and creativity to explore biodiversity, protect valuable ecosystems, and design a more sustainable future for our shared home?

Join the new 2026–2027 FIRST® LEGO® League robotics season – BIOGLOW℠ season – and unlock your power of discovery, sustainability, and innovation for a better world!
